This motor starter panel system starts the motor using a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). A VFD is a solid-state device that accepts AC or DC input power and gives the motor a controlled voltage and frequency output. The output can be frequency-modulated or pulse-width-modulated (PWM), managed by a programmed computer to suit the application. We adjust the firing angle of semiconductors like thyristors to achieve regulated power delivery.

Here are the key advantages of Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) panels that go beyond what traditional motor starters can provide:

  • These VFD panels offer precision that traditional motor starters can’t match. They control speed and torque with exacting accuracy, reduce starting current, and manage power factor optimally, ensuring unparalleled control.
  • Regenerative braking, a key feature of these VFD panels, harnesses the load’s rotational energy and converts it into usable power. This process ensures that load stopping is smooth and accurate, providing an unmatched level of safety.

We design these VFD panels for modern industrial operations. They provide precise motor speed and torque control for pumps, compressors, fans, rod mills, and packaging systems, demonstrating their versatility.

VFDs generate more heat than traditional motor starters, so our engineers must design the panels with efficient thermal management solutions.

The motors should be energy-efficient and feature high-quality magnetic core stamping to minimize heat buildup from eddy current losses and reduce acoustic noise.

Unwanted harmonics can affect performance, but installing appropriate line-side or load-side filter chokes can resolve these issues.

We meticulously engineer our VFD panels with all necessary safety, isolation, and protection components, which include busbars, adequately sized and insulated conductors, control switches, speed adjustment potentiometers, display pads, and control wiring. We also integrate harmonic filters, wiring terminations, and mounting accessories and can pre-program the panel for specific applications, ensuring it’s nearly ready for installation and use.
